Hey everyone, it's been a while! I've been super busy at work (and home), however, it's time for yet another upgrade.

Had an issue with the left hub clicking on the ol CJ. Checked it out and found that the snap ring had come off somehow... found bits of metal in the grease.
Got that taken care of, but when I was putting the locking hubs back on, I noticed that the housing around 3 of the bolt holes is cracked.
This is my first Jeep/off road build so I'm not sure which hub to use. I've heard of Warn before, however, I'm not sure which part/model of hub I can use on this.
On Warn's website they don't list a premium locking hub that fits the '84.

On summit I found these Mile Marker hubs , but I'm unsure of their quality.

Anyone use these?

If I should use a different hub, what should I get? (Links would definitely be helpful.)

Thanks everyone. :chug:

I ran Superwinch hubs on my 83 for years with no problems. I'd buy another set if I needed some.

Yes & yes. As long as you still have the stock Dana 30 that came in your 84.

MileMarker has'em all beat.

Warn on mine. There you go. Three different answers!!

Didn't WARN get sold to YUKON GEAR??? Oh, and MM had an overseas strike thing going a while back...you did know it was made in Taiwan/Korea right?

I dunno. Everything is made overseas.

Been running Warn since mid 90's. No problems at all
Been running Superwinch since 2002. No problems at all
Have a set of Milemarkers in the shop, haven't run them yet, but they look to be well made.

I don't think you'd go wrong with any of those three.

FWIW, Superwinch are the only ones you can run with OEM CJ center caps.

I ran Warn hubs for years, and still managed to break one here and there through no fault of theirs (loose hub bolts).

But a few years ago, I was looking for a replacement and ran across the Mile Markers. I started comparing the two dimensionally and noticed the MM's were a bit heavier built.

Now instead of a Warn hub grenading at the slightest loose bolt, the MM's seem to hold up a lot better to my negligence

I guess one day I will get around to swapping the bolts to studs or just replacing the worn out axle hubs, but in the meantime, I just keep checking them when I remember.

Anyway, I've been very happy with the Mile Marker hubs.

Having good luck with Superwinch hubs and a dab of blue Loctight on the hub bolts

Decided to go with the SuperWinch hubs (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/spw-400526/overview/year/1984/make/jeep/model/cj7). The Warn hubs were a bit on the pricey side ($60 more than the SuperWinches). And according to their site, there weren't any that were a direct fit for the premium hubs. Gonna have to dab some red paint over the blue, other than that, they appear to be a good heavy duty replacement for the wimpy factory ones.

I was on the fence about Mile Marker. It seems as though they were hit or miss. Some people had no issues, other's had big problems.

Warn, of course, were great. And it seems as though the SuperWinches were really good too, not to mention they looked to be more heavy duty than the Warn standard hubs anyway.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys! :chug:

I had MM hubs on my jeep when I bought it. They broke internally and I bought these:

Warn premiums with a 6 bolt conversion. :notworthy:

I think these are what I have:

A lot better than the MMs I had. I like the way they lock vs the MM, which were just a quarter turn.

Can you still remove the tire with those oversized washers?
Try AN washers--

I kept breaking and destroying the std six bolt style so I put the internal style front and rear. No bolts to loosen any more. F150 hubs and rotors and.a warn rear axle kit. Now I can worry about other things. :D
