I would like to winterize my jeep but have no idea how to do that. I've always just driven it through the winter, but this time I will be leaving home on nov 1st and probably won't be back till spring. I can't put it in the garage and my dad says he will not maintain it while i'm gone. it will stay in cincinnati so winter shouldn't be too bad but i've always had a problem with ice buildup on the soft top and the tires freezing to the ground. any advice would be nice.

You could set the Jeep up on blocks so tires are off the ground. Maybe cover the whole jeep with a tarp to keep ice and snow off of the top it self.

put a small sheet of plywood under the tarp/over the soft top. Brace it over the windshield frame and the roll bar. That will keep the ice buildup from tearing up the top.
Make sure to tie the tarp down!

Of course check all your fluids, change the oil, and I'd drop the tire pressure to about 15 Lbs after its on jackstands. Check your anti-freeze levels and use a hydrometer on it. Don't set the parking brake. Put one of those humidity control things in the back seat area. Remove the battery and store it in the garage on a trickle charger. A couple mousetraps probably wouldn't hurt, or throw your cat in there and lock it up...
