Hey all,

Earlier in the summer my dad and I bought a CJ7 off a guy in town because it was in much better shape than ours, so it would be cheaper for us to fix it up. Well it worked great for about 2 weeks and we've had many issues with it. Our main issue has been battery draining as well as the alternator blowing out which we think is from a short in the wiring. It has a 76 Chevy small block engine in it, so there is a bunch of (terribly) custom wiring in it. We want to buy a new harness that is easy enough for us to install, but are unsure which to get because of the Chevy engine in it. If anyone has any suggestions on it that would be awesome! Thanks in advance!

All the aftermarket harnesses, can or are able to wire a Chevy in a Jeep. Either preterminated or DIY. Centech, Easy, Painless or 1 of a bunch of custom manufacturers. All will be labeled and with instructions. Or you could get a good used OEM Engine Harness and plug into your bulkhead connector, and remove what is not needed, or repair yours.
On wires the sky is the limit.
