In a frame off rebuild for a long time...
Hey guys
I need a pic or diagram of how the proportioning valve is mounted in a early '90s Wrangler and a shot or 2 of it in relation to the power brake booster/MC.
I bought this PB booster/MC combo off Ebay, and I am trying to make sense of how the twisted tubes all go together. Or if I need to change the PV at all. I am pretty sure I will, just because I am changing the front to disc brakes. But I have heard the drum brake PV works ok?
Any thoughts or ideas will be greatly appreciated!

you really do not need a picture of the TJ
what you need is to understand brake systems
you have 2 cylinders in the MC the bigger one is for the front, you need to make sure the check vakve, or could be called a back pressure valve is correct for disc brakes, and that the rear cylinder, the smaller one is set for drums, then you can run the system first time and slam on the breaks, if the rear drums lock up, you will then need to run a proportioning valve to adjust the rear fluid transfer. I recommend getting a adjustable valve so you do not have to change it if the preset is incorrect, instead just crank on it a little.

Yep I've seen both of those. Thanks!
The first one says they didn't change out the PV, so maybe I'll leave it in there and see how well they work. It won't be on the streets this year, but I'd sure like to stop at the end of the track!
Anyone else?

And once again, you didn't read the question as to what I'm asking...care to try again? And a early '90s Wrangler is not a TJ, its a YJ, professor.
I don't need to use an aftermarket part, since I have all the stock style parts I should need (ie. both styles of PVs-drum and disc).
What I need is a pic of how the lines attach to the MC and the PV. The seller pulled the lines, and one of them is broken, so I don't know where they attach and how the valve is mounted in relation to the MC.

I'll see what I can dig up on the home computer.
I lack my archives at work.
I believe I have a copy of the bustedjeep page saved.

Whenever I find a page of good tech info, I usually save
the page and the pictures to my computer so I have it
later in case the page dies.

I zoomed in on those pics, but couldn't see the PV. Apparently he is using the original PV
Note: This setup is utilizing the CJ proportioning valve in its stock location on the frame rail as well as all current brake lines.
So I can't tell where my YJ unit was originally mounted. I guess I will try it with the original, and if it gives me problems, I will change out the drum brake unit for the disc brake one.

I pulled the brake booster and master cylinder off of a 94 YJ, and the PV was directly under the master cylinder. I dont have any pics of it though. I just used the stock cj PV. I havent been able to drive it too far but it seems to work ok.

let me ask you then, are all the mechanics of this system a YJ?or are we adding YJ stuff to CJ stuff?
