I was in Ouray last week and did a tour with San Juan Scenic Jeep Tours and then also did a couple on my own.
Yankee Boy is in very good condition, but is pretty dry. Most of the road out of Ouray to Camp Bird, just pass the Imogene split is dry, dusty and badly washboarded due to a poor grading job. The trail from there on up to the basin is in good shape.
The short, but very beautiful, Brooklyn Trail is in fantastic shape. If you've never done this trail and your out in the area, it takes about 20-40 mins and is a nice little drive with great views.
