Hi, this is my first post on here. I have taken in my uncle's old CJ7 to get it driveable for him again (and hopefully have it when he gets a replacement car, he not much of a jeep fanatic like me.) But anyways the thing hasnt been drivin in over a decade and i need to do some work to get it back kickin again. I was looking at oil pan gaskets and found a 1-piece silicone gasket as an alternative to the 4 piece one. The website didnt say for sure that it was compatable with my vehicle but did say it was compatable with the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l . Heres a link to the part:
Original Replacement Parts 53007568 - Oil Pan Gasket for 87-05 Jeep® with 4.0/4.2L Engine - Quadratec
I was just wanting to get some verification that this part is applicable to my vehicle. Thanks guys.

i work at oreillys and we carry a 1 piece felpro one. when i do mine thats the one im going to get.

Im really not sure what the difference is between an '84 AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l and a '87 AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l
I swapped an '87 into my CJ and I didnt see anything different between the two engines.

Hi I realize your post is a few years back but i'm about to try this again.
again because first gasket broke at the rear main seal and leaked, putting the new 1 on i found it was washing out at the same place. Did you have this problem, and if so how did you keep it in place with no grove in the oil pan?
Many thanks Jim
