Fellow CJers, I posted a thread under a different username about 1978 Electrical issues but I could not log in today. Anyway, I've traced my problems back to the fuse panel. More specifically, the wires on the back. This is my first Jeep and I am unfamiliar with what is behind the fuse panel. It is nearly 40 years old and has seen better days. My heater motor keeps cutting out because a wire on the back of the panel is loose or corroded. What is back there?

If the other blower worked fine and now you blow'n fuses, you're draw'n to much current and the circuit is not built to handle this newer blower.
Disconnect the battery POS(+) cable and unscrew the fuse panel to see the back. Who knows what a PO could have done to it.

the wiring in the back of the fuse block is connected to the board with ring and rivet connectors , these can fail. In some cases there will be just enough contact to show 12v no load. Worst case power at the battery , go through a 40 amp Bosh relay, a fuse or better yet a circuit breaker and use the accessory circuit through the dash switch to the bosh relay.
