Build Thread 1979 Cj-7 Let the games begin! Rolling restoration
Please post pics of the seats when you get them done! That sound really cool!!! We like Pics!!:chug:

the guys at the upholstry shop are really getting into it , the boss called me and asked if they could add some extra stitching to make them look more like jeans! the back seat has two pockets about 10x14" and they will have some stitching scroll across the top and maybe a big "CJ" kinda like the "W" on wrangler jeans pockets if it wont look too wierd . this week they will start sewing the panels together so i will get pics as soon as they take shape . right now the denim is really dark so i will wask them a few times to lighten them up and the sun will do the rest. they are going to have a drawstring around the whole bottom so i can take them off to wash them:)

thx brian

Re: 1979 CJ7 help with VACCUM LINES

Slow down on cutting those lines! Yes, distributor to carb inlet is the only important line but that doesn't mean you shouldn't put fresh new vacuum lines with small finish nails inside to prevent those old school devices from retarding your time. Disinginuous, sneaky, and complete false advertisement of a resto mod, but it looks totally professional!

not sure how to take this: "Disinginuous, sneaky, and complete false advertisement of a resto mod, but it looks totally professional"

am i disinginuous and sneaky ? did i call my build a "resto mod" ?if I did it was a bad choice of words .(and i dont think it looks professional) Im not really restoring the jeep im just trying to make it "my own" . and i dont claim to be a professional mechanic or restorer much more of a shade tree jack of all trades that loves to tinker :)

i agree that a period correct historic restoration should include all the factory wiring , hoses , belts and hardware with the correct markings but im building a fun daily driver . for the most part i like a clean and neat engine compartment so i removed all unnessacary wiring want to clean up the hoses / vac system without hurting performance or causing any problems . i will also be capping the vac ports with removable caps so if I or someone in the future need them they will still be there.
