Trying to get my front end apart to replace my ball joints. I know there's supposed to be 2 nuts after you get the locking hub off. Mine has a spanner nut and I can't for the life of me figure out what is locking it in. In moves about an 1/8 of a turn back and forth eaasily. It is completely round on the outside and has 5 holes in it. The last person to take if off or put it on messed up a few holes from pounding on it. Any ideas?

It has Mile Marker locking hubs, but I couldn't find anything in their install instructions that address replacing the nut for a spanner nut?

Okay, have no idea who makes it, but I figures it out. Had to take a drift to it to get it off. I'll be replacing it with the normal nut, lock washer, nut when I reinstall it. There is a washer between the two, and a couple of dimples on the back side of the nut thar locks it in. Didn't think to get a picture of those.

Glad you figured it out I had a similar problem where my outer but wouldn’t come off until I realized (thanks to the forum) that the washer behind it had to be bent back.

What kind of ball joints are you installing?

I'm just running stock ball joints. I'm only going 33" tires. If I ever need to replace them again I'll upgrade them.

Thanks, I’m going to have to replace mine, I’ve got it down to the frame and rebuilding the axles now.

I’ll be running 33” as well, but thinking of going with Moog ball joints.
