Wow thats pretty good for the amount of time youve put in it. Is the windshield frame a Yj frame? I was just thinking it would be flat with no ribs in it.

No, its a CJ frame, but aftermarket. I can't find a good OEM CJ one with no or 1 rib in it.

The one I took off of it had 2 ribs as well and it had been replaced at some point.

Frame is off the axle assemblies, flipped over, working on fixing the issues, broken bolts, unsafe things, etc.

All in all, things are moving, but with needing to replace/repair all 11 body mounts, things are going a bit slow.

Pressed the spring eye bushings out after I got the u-bolts off

Working on the Transmission cross member to have 6 bolts to seat it, there were only 2.5 or so holding it on

It didnt look that rusty in the begining pics. It is amazing what you find as you tear it down. Couldve at least had one good body mount. Of course it probably have been one you had to move for the Yj tub. ;) When I dropped my Transmission the skid had 4 of 5 or 6 bolts , 2.5 is downright scary. You didnt put much mileage on it though when you first got it did you? Cant remember if you drove it home from Jersey or not. Either way glad the tranny didnt just drop out.

I checked it out top to bottom, screw driver, etc, got it running and still I thought I had a decent rig... in the end, you "do it right" in my book and that means 11 solid body mounts, 6 bolts in the Transmission member, 4 bolts each in the shackle mounts, and make sure all the bolts on the frame are fresh and tapped... sucks though on the time, it takes forever... case in point, 8 snapped off little beauts clark as well as the main spring eyes that were rusted frozen in place!

and yes, there are 9 snapped bolts in that picture... one was from the body where the rear seat mount was... a LOT of heat and they let go!

I know what you mean. I just took my front springs off. One came off ok, the other I destroyed the bolt hammering it out. :bang::bang::bang: (And Yes it felt like I was using my Head!) Impact wrench wouldn't turn it at all. Rod

I thought all Texas Jeeps bolts came out with a pinch of dust and ease? I guess I was mislead as to how nice those are :)

Wow that looks great. So how solid is it? Did the blasting reveal any weak spots? Or anything you didn't know already?

Nothing I didn't know already, which is nice... I just have a lot of prep work, paint it up, then get it ready to get back to a roller... lot done so far, crested the 200 hour mark, which is probably half way and I hope to have her done for the summer!

Speaking of wheels and tires have you thought of what combo your going to use? Over 200 hrs already, that's a good chunk of time. Think if you didn't sandblast the frame. :D

Yeah, I have a set of restored 15x8 white waggies... 31x10.5x15 BFG's on them... they were taken off at the start of the restore... I didn't want them to get all messed up.

Here they are on day #1 of the tear down 2.5 months ago... damn time flies!

PS> I hit 225 hours last night... I keep mentioning it as people tend to think this stuff only takes a week from watching those shows on TV ;)

360 is stabbed back in and the fuel system and braking system are all stainless and plumbed up (For the most part)

Excellent choice on the wheels. I thought you sold those. They are sweet. Are you going to be doing your own paint as well?Im tired of rattle can jobs on my projects and am thinking about taking it to the next level when I get my Scrambler. I have a ton to learn when it comes to body work though.
