1984 cj7 breaks suck i need help

1984 CJ7 AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l 4 speed with 33 inch tires the breaks suck!!! i expect them to be bad due to i it being a 84 but this is just crazy you have to really jam on them for it to try to stop hell my 77s breaks where better.... I check vacuum booster un plugged it i did notice a difference so i assume it works? any other way to test it? Also it kinda feels like the front is doing all of the breaking and not the back.

Things i have replaced.

new brakes all around rear cylinders and all

Also Guy i bought this from did a lot of half assed work so i had to fix alot who knows who did what.

any suggestions appreciated

Proportioning valve may be bad. Found out mine was a few years ago after ripping right front brake hose off the caliper out in the desert. We managed to cobble it to stop the fluid at the frame and as we continued I was rudely surprised I only had left front to stop me the rest of the week long trip.

That would make you pay attention to the trail !

Trail wasnt nearly as bad as the 4 hour freeway speeds drive home. It was a bit of a mister toad ride

Ok thanks Will replace this next for the hell of it nothing to loose... at this point.
