1990 jeep wrangler, boggin and wont start.

i bought a 1990 jeep and i was driving it home and it started boging when i pressed the gas fully and then after 5 mins it died and wouldnt start back up. where do i start with this thing. it looks like a wrangler it says body type UT.

when i turn the key i hear it trying to start but doesnt and a couple times it did start and reved up and died again,

also how do i tell which motor it has in it? its a s/yj wrangler

Is a 4cy or a 6cy and if it's a 6cy does it have fuel injection or a carb?
