So I've noticed driving around town in between 30-40 there is a bit of wheel wander with my fiancee's new(to her) 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Well last night she had me take it on the highway and that thing is one SCARY rig to drive on the highway. I was going 55-65 and that thing was all over the place i mean if people were behind me they probably would have thought i was drunk thats how bad it is, i was moving the steering wheel constantly just to keep it some what straight and in between the lines. So could someone with some better insight please tell me what this is or correct me if im wrong. Im thinking tie rod ends are a little sloppy? Also the right front passenger tire shows uneven wear and it is getting bald on the outside. Thanks for the help/advice as always guys!

get under it and give things a shake and see what is loose.
take it to a front end alignment shop and do an alignment on it.
Its $40 or $50 to have it aligned and then it is done with a warranty.
And they will be more than happy to tell you what else is wrong.

Well it needs new tires, so next week i was going to take it to get some Winter Force snow tires put on it and since that will be happening they will align it and warranty it, and im going to tell them about the wheel wander issue and have them check it out for me and let me know if anythings wrong with it, and if so ill have them fix it.

sound wisdom.

Air pressure can make a difference also - but your doing right to start! :)

I read that in a article i googled and im going to go check that out tomorrow. But either way the tires are shot they have very little tread and that one has uneven wear which is bothersom so im gonna just have to put new tires on! and later on rims and a 3 inch lift! :D

So some pretty terrifying news as to what the dealer let us drive off the lot with. Checked tire pressure in the ZJ the rear tires were at 14 and 15! and the front two were at 32 and 35 and the max PSI on these tires are 35 so i got them all aired up to 33 and called it good! it doesnt wander as bad im still gonna have the tire place align it and check the front end. I was having a conversation with my dad and he thinks its ball joints and im voting tie rod ends but we will see i guess! or it could just need an alignment ha :)
