I am looking at a 2.5" lift.I noticed some kits had tappered wedge spacers and some did not. On a 2.5" lift wood they be needed?

Yes. The spacers are to adjust the steering angles back to factory. When you lift you change the a gle of the axle and the amount of trail is affected. So your tracking is changed. Now if you use the wedge it corrects the caster and your steering is nuetral again
