'70 V6 225 cu in, original engine. Previous owner removed smog pump and installed regular bolts into the holes in the head where the lines pumped air/fumes into each cylinder. Smog pump not required where I live so will not be reinstalling the smog pump. What have others used to plug the holes? I picked up a set of plugs that were suppose to work but the end is too long so can't reach the threads. The threads were correct but plugs must be for a deep hole. For now the standard bolts remain and the engine runs great. Just looks like bad.

If the bolts will back out easily mark them and cut off the extra then reinstall. I have seen a lot of bolts that were too long sticking out of the exhaust manifold when the pulse lines have been removed.

Found out today the plugs are correct. There is an insert that has to be pulled out of the hole to allow the plug to seat all the way in. BUT how to get out the insert?
