I'm trying to get this AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l mounted back into a new TDK frame. I can't get both motor mounts and the Transmission mount to lineup right. I'm starting to think I might have the wrong frame brackets. Does anyone have any advise? I'd rather not spend the 260 bucks on the bomb proof mounts, but can't find any other info on the web.

Are they the same mounts that were on the old frame? What misalignment issues you having? If it’s the fact that the Transmission mount is too far forward or aft, it’ll be you crossmember. There are several versions out there, and the frame may not be drilled for the one you are using.

Also - And I may be totally wrong on this - but I was under the impression the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l used a small frame bracket on both sides and the V8’s used a small and a large. That’s the setup I’m using with a AMC 304 , and my one memory cell says the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l didn’t use the large one......
