The front seat belts that came with mine are different than what I've seen around. I think they are due for replacement.

They are 3-point that connect like a lap belt. What I like about them is that they quickly catch tight even if you hit the smallest of bumps. They catch so quickly that when you put it on, you have to very slowly pull it into position. Anyone riding with me for the first time, struggle to pull it slow enough to put it on.

Would like to get a direct replacement or another version if it acts the same. From the attached pics and description, anyone know which brand or version these might be?

Yours looks like it has an adjustment of some sort in the second pic and not oem. I got my replacement belt from one of the big box Jeep outfits, it seems to work just fine.

My replacement from JC Whitney has a lower section like that second pic and catch like you describe. So much that passengers hate to buckle.

But the latch part does not look like the first pic.

I'm going to show my age here as I remember when seat belts had buckles like that. :D I actually like them over the button kind as my arthritic hands get older. ;) They were easy to "Flip" open and unbuckle.

Thanks for the replies. Found what I think is the manufacturer, Beams Industries Seat Belts. They advertise an emergency or automatic catch system and looks very similar to what I have. They offer theirs in an 'old-style' buckle type for those that like to go mudding because the button types clog up. Never would have thought of that. It's exactly what my PO did and frustratingly, I'm still finding and cleaning out mud in unusual places. It's been difficult locating a dealer for them for a CJ version.

Gr8dain - can you post which one's you bought? Since it catch's easy and has the button style, I'd like to consider getting it.

Yep. The Beams 3 point retractible was the one I got.

Got it installed. The short button section only comes up to about the bottom of the seat, just above the seat bracket. Seems too short. Is that how yours is? Wondering if I need a metal bracket extension piece like they sell.

Does catch quickly and easily which I like.
