304 on craigslist

i found a 304 on craigslist for $275. it says it has 300hp what do you guys think. i think it would take alot of $$$$$ to get 300hp out of a 304.

Always seek the source of any advertisements!
Ask the owner how he arrived at 300hp? (Maybe he typoed and he really meant 300hp capable, after thousands of dollars)
Is he an overly enthusiastic teen with a vivid imagination?
Did he just assume that it had 300hp at the flywheel?
Or is he trying to find and mislead an unknowing, enthusiastic victim?
All in all, it requires more inquiry to find out..........
I suspect that he googled "AMC 304 " and found a dragster Gremlin with a punched out , highly modified "304" and he said "WOW! I can sell my motor for at least $250!"

it is alot easier to get power out of newer cars than old. the thing that sucks is it cost more money with all the electrics.
