33" inch tires on stock axles?

33" inch tires on stock axles?
OK! I have picked up a slightly used one piece MOSER narrow trac axle ...
NOW ... :chug: What all do I need for the install ?

Moser made all kinds of axles for all kinds of vehicles. We need more information. Do you know what your axle came off of?
Basically you need spring perches on your axle the correct distance apart. If these have to be welded on make sure you do it so the drive shaft angle is correct.
You need to mount your drive shaft to the yoke. The U-Joint from the axle must match your U joint. Or you should be able to replace the axle yoke (ask Moser about this)
There may also be an issue with the brakes. If you are taking off drums and installing disks (or visa versa) you may need a new proportioning valve.
Lastly and most importantly the gear ratio must match what's in the front axle.

you mis-understand . just replacing the two piece axle on my CJ7 with the one piece axle up-grade...

Oh ... :o
Remove the wheels and brakes. Remove the big nut at the center of the hub. Get a big puller and remove the hub. Then you can easily get to the nuts holding on the flange that holds on the wheel bearings. Then you can remove the axle. Install in reverse order.
You say "slightly used". I assume the bearing is already installed on the axle shaft. Then as I said install in reverse order. Just make sure the bearings are good. You don't want to do this again next weekend.

I would not care how "used" they were, I would replace the bearings and oil seals on the replacement axles. I would also just pull the axles and let the machine shop press the bearing off to remove the flange from the two piece axles.
Do the replacement axles have a brake flange on them now??
Getting the nut off will be a challenge and pulling the flange on the end of the shaft will be even more so.

IO brings up a good point, do the used axles you picked up have the brake backing plates on them? IMO I would put new bearings and seals on them also, no reason to do them again when the old bearing gives out.
I think Superior has the install on there web site I'll check for you.

If your axles have tappered bearing the install will be the same as this
http://www.superioraxlegear.com/pdfdocs/model20install.PDF
If they came with ball bearings (there old ones did) than you will have to get ahold of moser for the install directions.
Oh yea, if the axles you picked up have the backing plates on them than just pull you old 2 piece axles out in one piece as you don't need to take the hub off. Save your backing plates though as you can use them to cut up if you ever want to go to discs in the rear. (or sell them to someone thats going to discs)
