i found a good deal on some 33" tires and rims. are they to much for a stock suspension?

You should probably have 2 in of lift for 33s. Someone seems to be having fun with your screenname ;)

Look at mine in the intro section under Found Ya!. The CJ7 is on 33s with 2 1/2 in. lift springs. If you got a good deal on 33s with the wheels grab them. You can always add some used lift springs a little later. For a Cj they usually go around $100. Or if you wanted you could trim away at the tub and fenders and rid yourself of some rust in the process. :D

I had a set of 33x12.50s on a stock suspension-ed '83 CJ7 before. Buy I'd say go with at least a 2" lift for better clearance.

Pretty sure you will have rub problems. A 33 is lots bigger than the little stock tires, and you will get rubbing over hard bumps, or any suspension loading. Even turns will grind up a storm for you. As said, If they're that good a deal, get them and add 2.5" springs later.

The standard is that you'll need a 2 1/2 inch lift for 31 or 32 inch tires. To fit a 33 inch without rubbing most people go to a 4 inch lift, or add 1 inch body lift along with the 2 1/2 inch suspension lift. If you never go off road 33's might work, but it won't take much articulation to have them rub.

Bigger tires always cost you more that the cost of the tires. Be prepared to spend money on your suspension, wider wheels, and maybe new gears.
