59 CJ5 windshiels surround

Fellow CJ Jeepers,
I have a 1959 Willys CJ5 with the original top mount wipers windshield frame (surround). I upgraded to the electric wipers but they still leave a lot to be desired, especially living in the Pacific Northwest where it rains all the time. I would like to get a newer model windshield frame with bottom mount wipers but I’m not sure what year (if any) will fit correctly without screwing up the fit of my new Besttop Supertop.
Has anyone ever done this and knows what windshield will work? Or, is there an aftermarket windshield with better wipers that I can upgrade to?

Chuck, since no one else has replied I will take a stab at it. From what I know after having a few early cj's is the frame from a 1969 to 1975 should go on your '59 tub with out changing the fit of the besttop.Those years would have the bottom mount wiper motor and syncronized linkage.Finding a good used W/S frame may be a challange.I have not had any first hand experiance with the aftermarket new ones. That would be a nice upgrade thou. Mike

WOW! I just priced everything out all new parts (Frame, seal, cowl, locks, wiper motor, linkages…) and it’s over $600. Guess I’ll be on the lookout for someone parting out a 69-75 CJ.
