modify existing Transmission , purchase adapter
purchase/install motor mounts
modify/replace clutch and linkage
modify/replace drive shafts
modify/replace cooling system
modify/replace steering system
modify/replace wiring system
replace exhaust system
open wallet, remove additional $1000
modify/repair/finish any loose ends
that just about covers it
enjoy !

Simply. It was the best move I ever made for pure horsepower but the worst move I ever made for gas mileage. That about sums it up for me.

If you want to do this mod, you can get a tbi 350 at the bone yard for around 800 you can use a early 80's chevy fullsize truck for the tranny about 300. then all you have to do is place in the engine figure out where you want your engine mounts then weld them in. then a driveshaft is about 300. you can use your stock axels and tcase or swap them out for the chevy stuff.
its not easy by any means but with some time and work it is doable. oh i should mention you will most likely have to make a new tranny crossmember.
check out astovans for a posable drive shaft.

That's alot of motor for a small Jeep. Next you will need to start thinking about up grading the rest of the drive train to handel the abuse it will put on it.
