71 cj5 body

I don't know about the mail jeep, but from what i've read, as long as you don't go past 75' you're good to go on CJ5 body swapping/mounting. 76' was a different frame and body mounts. You could probably make a newer body work, but most likely wouldn't be worth the effort unless you really want it.

Mail Jeeps and DJ's are different but frequently used in the same context...

Mail Jeeps usually are left drive and need extensive firewall mods to make them work as well as other problems. The front clips are most troublesome as the mail jeeps had front clip differences...

So, do you have a line on a DJ or a real mail Jeep? :)

I'm pretty sure it's a real mail jeep it has the short front end but I'm good with front end Im just wanting to put a CJ5 body on. The whole thing is already mounted to frame. I'm just wondering if CJ5 tub will hook to mail jeep front end.

The mail Jeep front end is different than a CJ front end, bummped grill and shorter fenders and hood... Not a direct fit. :)

A DJ front end is a direct replacement.. :)

AFAIK - DJ and CJ tubs are the same - steering is usually on the oposite sides though... :)

From what I read other than the model year differences mentioned above they are a bolt up deal.
