73 CJ5 hardtop what are they worth

I might buy a 73 CJ5 and it has the original hardtop but the guys wants a little more then i want to pay. So i want thinking i would but it and sell the hard top but i don't know how much they would go for. Thanks for your help i appreciate it.

I can say that a hard top on a 73 CJ5 is worth a little more, they are a bit hard to find if you want one. I don't know how much you are dealing with but if it's in good shape, on a good day I would say $5 at least. you have to find a buyer but they don't stay on CL or flea bay very long.

It may even grow on you.

Mine came with a factory Meyers hard top.

I would take it off in the summer and put it back on in the winter. A PITA.

They tend to make it top heavy compared to a soft top.

Finally sold it for $300.

Lots of folks might want it, but shipping's a killer. Try putting it on Craig's list?

If it was in good shape with the doors I would pay alot more than that. CJ5 hard tops are not produced anymore and the metal ones are cool as hell.
