73 cj5 wiring question

having some wiring issues. i replaced the solinoid in my 73 CJ5 and now i got nothing! No lights, now cranking NADA! Can anyone take a picture of their wiring? Ive followed the wiring diagram (hopefully) and im at a loss. I looked on painless wiring and didnt seen an ignition wiring harness. HELP!!! lol. also has anyone replaced the stock gauges with digital or ever seen any pics?

make sure all the wires went back onto the positive lug of the solenoid. The ignition switch draws power from there, and without it, you will get no switch power.

just did a wire harness in a 76 dj5 ill get you some picts in morn
it did exactly what you said couldn't find short so I replaced the harness

Also the solenoid needs a ground, mine was mounted on a fiberglass fender and needed it's own ground.

it has a good gropund. its still on the original metal fenders. i'll try rewiring today.

thanks but we have a little different set up I have a AMC 304 . i fear i might have to do that horrible deed. take it to a mechanic! lol

Why?
All you have to do is figure out where the voltage is lost, then repair it. Its not rocket science, and probably not worth what you will pay a mechanic.
Do you have a test light?
Can you follow the schematic posted earlier?

Post up pics of your solenoid, and the battery area. We can walk you thru this...

I agree.Post up a pic also of the overall engine bay as close as you can get.Take the pic from overhead looking down at the engine.

after replacing the harness it was a wire from the solenoid that was chard and grounding to the fire wall
