I'm trying to figure out what my original trim type and color. When I do an internet search I'm confused.
1978 CJ7 , My trim code is 6CKP
What I find is;

Your interior trim (6CKP) is Tan Levi (Edition) 's denim, vinyl bucket seats. Your original paint color (6D) is "Sand Tan". Here's a reference to the numbers on your VIN plate:

Thank you very much! As a resto-mod I won't be replicating that, (expensive I bet). Maybe gives me the right to put the 'Levi (Edition) ' sticker on the side just for fun.

From my understanding there's really no way to be 100% sure what your trim level is. Unless you've got the original purchase invoice from the AMC dealership. But don't worry! Everybody adds Golden Eagle /Renegade decals on their CJ, even if it isn't true.
