Ok everyone, I am back with another concern. I was able to take a look at some possible items I may want to replace and the wiring was one that was a definate possibility. However; I have read on here and other forums that there are no complete wiring harnesses. What I mean by that is, I have read that painless makes one, but it is ONLY for the chassis and the engine harness is not available. I am hoping that someone has compeleted this job recently and can tell me that I have been misinformed or the information I read on the forums was outdated. Anyone have input on this delimma? Thanks in advance.

"UPADTE" I just ran across this wiring harness, but not sure if it is worth buying. "Centech Jeep CJ 76-86 Heavy Duty Wiring Harness", from EAD offroad. It looks like it might be a partial OEM and universal, but wanted to throw this out there and see if anyone had heard or perhaps used it. Thanks.

Never used one personally. Those aren't OEM at the firewall at all.

For the price of the Centech, I'd go Painless, if you want as close to OEM as possible.

I used the Centech for my 79 CJ7 and thought it was very nice. Its not OEM, but it did everything I wanted it to do, and that was a complete replacement.

Great thanks for the input. After looking at my harness, I may be able to salvage it after all. The engine harness may be another story.

I used the Painless. I liked it. My old harrness was so jacked that I didn't have much choice.

Is this a pic of the wiring harness? It looks like the engine harness. I was told that painless did not have a wiring harness that included the engine compartment. Is this not true? I looked over mine today and I think my chassis is ok, but the engine harness is :dung:.
