So i bought my CJ about 3 months ago and have done nothing but put money into it. Soft top, Tires, Radiator, electric fan, Steering box, Webber Carb.

The carb that was on my jeep was leaking due to the fact it had the wrong jets and the builder didnt know what he was doing.. So I bought a Weber Carb and it ran fine but has continued to idle rougher as time has gone by???

Any help would be great!!

That doesnt sound like the carburetor, that sounds like your ignition. Plugs, wires, distributor...have you checked any of these things?

The crappy stock dizzy is prone to crossfire because of the combination of metallic buildup on the wall and the small diameter of the dizzy. This will cause a rough idle.

I Had just replaced the plug wires and plugs. the cap and rotor looked clean. Its making a sucking sound and wants to die if you dont baby the pedal.

So this morning after charging the battery I went out and hooked up the choke on the carb " had not done that yet" ... Anyway if i leave the choke simi closed it runs great! ??? But why? If the choke completely closed or open it wont run well and "loops" at idle. Any ideas?

Sure sounds like a vacuum leak since you have to keep the choke on. I test with a small propane bottle and hose.
