I have a stock 85 jeep wagoneer 4 wheel drive. The hi/lo dimmer switch broke and I took it apart to replace it and I cannot figure out how to get the ignition switch out. The 85 should have a switch on the floorboard but it's on the collum. It appears to be a S 10 Blazer with a jeep body. The switch I had to buy fits a 86 s10 truck. On a GM switch it has to be in the on positition to get it out and that causes another problem. The jeeep has been in storage since 2002 and several years ago my wife took the keys out of it and we can't find them. The tumblers stuck in the correct positition and it can be cranked and locked without the key but if i clean the tumblers they will lock and i wont be able to get it back into the on positition if i can't find the keys. The chilton manual shows 2 different ways to remove it but the disgrams are wrong because they only show the collum shift and my jeep has a floor shift. I can put a floor switch switch in it but i would like to keep it all stock. Any ideas from anyone would be appreciated.
