ok, so in getting the engine running again, I obviously changed to a header. This header does not utilize the small tube that runs from the exhaust to the bottom of the intake (near the intake diffuser). I'm assuming this was part of the emissions :dung:, but can't find any literature as to what it was actually called. I'm going to actually plug it, but am hoping to get some specs as to what size and thread it uses. I take the part to the stores, but no body seems to have a 5/8" brass plug, which is what it seems to want to thread into.
th

now this is not my intake, but I'm referring to the port at the top of the image and
th

goes to the bottom port of the image above. Does anyone have an idea of what the tube is called that connects the ports? Thx

Those 6 top ports are for air-injection tubes from a belt driven air pump.
One of those larger ports is for an O2 sensor. Try a std spark plug for THD size.

Hmmm, mine had a piece of brass tubing connecting them together. I'll take a picture this evening of the tube...it could have totally been added though from the PO.

The '85 didn't use air injection. Make sure the bolts & ports all line up before you go any farther.
