I finally have gotten my CJ to the point of a dependable daily driver and luckily due to the bad weather have meen driving it to and from work. I have noticed that practiclly every other person drving a jeep gives a friendly wave of acknowledement. That's pretty cool!:chug:

That is part of the Jeep wave / acknowledgment, and is one of the coolest things about owning a Jeep! :)

That makes it official. You're in the club!

I like it too. In the early days of owning my CJ5 I was scolded for not waving. Having never owned a vehicle that also automatically joined me into a social club, this was a new experience. Sure, I'd seen this behavior before, but it was always in someone else's car (Jensen Healey, Miata, Mini).

Now I've developed a keen eye and can easily spot a CJ from a distance -- although I'm still working on being able to ID the year. I've even found myself waving when I'm in my daily-driver-family-wagon.

in my small town it dont matter if you have a cj,yj,tj,jk,xj we all wave at each other.

back in high school I had a beefed XJ and it earned a courtesy wave eveytime I passed another XJ that was in someway not stock. my CJ is not quite a daily driver yet...to say the least... but I'm certainly looking foward to gettin waves again this summer! I tell ya, not too many BMW courtesy waves in my 330. More like BMW courtesy middle fingers

Well the wave is something i'll strive to keep alive. I was definitely not expecting it and is a welcome experience. I have never gotten a courtesy wave in the many other vehicals i have owned except my dirt bike when i ride it and that's because it's a KTM biker thing.:D
