Aftermarket fuel tank skid plate straps ?

I'm swaping out the stock 15 gallon fuel tank in favor for a poly 20 gallon unit.

In doing so, I'm also installing an aftermarket fuel tank skid plate like Gen-Right or Kilby to fit the 20 gallon tank. Undecided at the moment.

My question is has anyone done this? And did you have to use 20 gallon tank straps? Or straps at all?

I'm figuring that the new skid plate will fit so well that no straps will be needed...then again that would be assuming.

I have an 82 CJ7 and it has a 20 gallon poly and it does have the strap. I am not sure if this was an upgrade or not it looks original with the apparatus it has on the top of tank. I think it may be a vent or something. The reason I know, it sprung a leak on me and I dropped it to take a look. I tried buying a replacement from O'reilley's and it does not have the extra two holes in the top like this one. Plus it is a 15 gallon tank and the one I have has to be a 20. I have tried finding this same tank with no luck. The strap does help keep the tank from moving around so much. I would be glad to send you some pictures. Let me know what you come up with.

I do know that the top strap from a 15 gal. does not work for the 20 gal. I know that hutch1200 over on jeepforum.com has done the swap.
