So, I have been testing the CJ7 out since it is back on the road. I noticed that the volt gauge reads normal when the motor is running (14-15). When I turn on the lights, the gauge drops slightly. However, when I turn on the heater/blower, it drops to about 10.
Did do the upgrade on the blower motor.

My question is, could it be a ground problem? I have a 'glass tub and there was (is) a ground wire under the dash that we think is hooked back up, but not sure (can't see it). Could the ground being off cause the voltage to drop like that? Or is the alternator bad?

sounds like the alternator isn't able to keep up when you are running a lot of electrical components.
First make sure the belt is not too loose. The alternator is harder to turn when it is trying to produce more electricity. I have seen the same problem where the belt actually squeals when the lights and blower were on. Check the belt and if that seems good I say you need a new alternator.
One more note; before you turn off your engine I would turn off your lights and blower. Let your voltage come up before you shut it down.

Clean the connections on the alt/starter/battery also.
I had one that had a little corrosion and would act up.
If you need a new alt check out a early 90's caddy they
had something like 124 to 140 amps.
We run CS-130's a caddy ran a CS144.
Also make sure your replacement will charge at or just above idle.
It does no good it if wont charge at idle in you spend alot of time idleing.

Also make sure your wiring is up to stuff.
See my first link here:

Also there are other links in there of use also.

I agree with both these guys.:chug:

Thanks guys, will check the wiring and connections first. Then if all is well, have the alternator checked out.
