Okay, my 86 CJ with the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l , my dad and I have added a Smittybilt xrc-10 winch, we have a pair of the 6" Anzo HIDs, a pair of halogen lights that are going to be added underneath for night runs (in case of getting stuck, repairs/whatever) , and will be getting a pair of regular fog lights to add to it.
Also no A/C, but the PO did add a stereo system with an amp if that makes any difference in the choice.

The alternator is in need of replacement, and I'm trying to figure out what to replace it with. What is the recommended one for this application? Specifically which one. I ask because I had an issue with replacing the water pump because I bought the wrong one, as the belt spun it the wrong way or something.

What's all your recommendations? I'm new to adding a bunch of electrical components to a vehicle, so I'm a bit in the dark as far as batteries/alternator go.

THANKS!

The alternator that came with your CJ comes in a 94 amp version or a Delco-Remy CS130, plus add dual batteries

I've never had an issue with my 140 amp one wire alternator.

I had an Optima yellow top that lasted 5 years. I replaced with a std 850 amphr for 1/4th the price. Really disappointed. Lots of mags love em and the look cool but way over rated in my mind. Yellow tops have changed their warranty, but I still have a bad taste in my mouth.

Dual batteries will be the ticket if you winch much. :D
