Anyone know where I can get motor mounts and frame mounts to put a AMC 304 into my 1974 CJ5 ? Also what do I need to change over other than the mounts and rad?
I have a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l in it with a T-18 and a Dana 20 case. I have a friend that has some AMC v-8's laying around and thinking of dropping 1 in. I have a 350 chevy for it , but figured it'll be a little easier to use a AMC motor.
You will also need some rewireing, the original pressure plate for the engine, throttle cable, exhaust, and may need some clutch linkage parts as well. There will be other little items that will show their face also.
I'd go for the "Bomb Proof" that's what I run.
They do away with both sets of cheap brackets & are one hell of a lot stronger.
These were on my 401 V8 for a month before total failure. View attachment 3033
