I am looking for a set of factory exh. manifolds for my AMC 304 and found a 1987 wagoneer with a blown 360 in it. I thought all the exh. manifolds were the same but finding some info that the waggy manifolds are the same as CJ up to 1979 and then the change to a rear down exit in 1980.

Can someone maybe confirm this and what other vehicles I could look for manifolds on for my CJ.

I know the AMC cars will not work.

That is true. In 1980 The FSJ's moved to a driver's drop front axle and it required a change to the driver's side manifold. The passenger side remained unchanged. I have been "told" that the later manifold will work in a CJ but I have not tried it myself

The heads didn't change so both manifolds will bolt up to the engine with no problem. A good exhaust shop should be able to build you a custom exhaust if you want them to.

But another alternative is that you can buy new cast manifolds. They can be found on the web and they're not horribly expensive.

I have a set from a waggy.. IF you want them I can get you a price on shipping.. but would probably be cheaper to find some close to you.

I can get a set from pull-a-part for $45 a set but I think the drivers side would interfere with the clutch linkage. The CJ style turns down about the middle to give you room to go under the clutch linkage.

I don't know if anyone on here is running waggy manifolds on a CJ or not.
