Ok guys, went to help my friend with his new to him 79 CJ AMC 304 . Rough idle, yada yada yada, popped the hood and the P.O. had a PCV going to the passenger valve cover. The grommet was not sealing and a ton of silicone around it. The hole was too big also and whistling air. The Holley carb was also siliconed to the manifold!
I told him to plan on a day and we will take off the Holley and put back on an MC2100 and get the PCV back on the manifold and replace the valve cover, among other things.
All was well, the Holley was off, and the valve cover off and replaced. ONE LITTLE PROBLEM! Where the PCV is supposed to go (at least on all the 2brl AMC 304 360 and 401 motors I have seen) was not there. What is there is a 1/2 inch threaded hole. WTF?
Has anyone ever seen a AMC 2brl intake that DID-NOT have a PCV hole? It has everything else, EGR, manifold vacuum, ect., just like mine.
I guess I know why the P.O. put the PCV in the valve cover now
