An odd question for the tranny/ t-case gurus

The quick question here would be, does anyone know how long the shaft from the GM Turbo 400 into the QuadraTrac is?
Here is why. First off I am supposed to be moving very soon so I can't dip into the bank account without the wife scalping me.
I have the offset rear axle due to QuadraTrac on my CJ. I had put in one piece shafts and all was well until one of them decided to eat the bearing. I thought it was a u-joint going bad, so while going back and forth trying to locate which u-joint was going bad the axle walked out.
So since the axle walking out made my shaft look like an old lp I ordered a new axle and bearing kit. The inner tube didn't seem to be messed up so when the new parts came and I got everything pressed on the new axle I went to put in the inner seal, and bearing retainer ring thing. They did not want to go in. I ended up having to heat the tube up and use a rubber mallet to get them in. I noticed that the axle tube looked like it got a little wobbled out. When I put the shaft and bearing in the tube it seemed to go in just fine but when I spin the tire I can hear the bearing turning.. I'm thinking that if I run like this it will just be a matter of time before I nuke another bearing.
So I dug into my spare parts pile. I know that the GM Turbo 400 that mates to the CJ7 has a 10 spline shaft. I have an old Dana 20 tc. that was once mated to a GM Turbo 400 in a commando but it has a bigger shaft and lots more splines. I want to say 32 but I'm really not sure. what I know is that I do have the stock "yes weak" adapter to mate a Dana 20 to the GM Turbo 400 .
So I dug out the T-14 -a mated to a Dana 20 and split them apart today to find a 10 spline shaft coming out of the 14 to the 20. I compared the adapter plates and know that they are the same thickness. But does anyone know if I can bolt the adapter plate to the Dana 20 with the 10 spline input and bolt it to the 78 CJ7 GM Turbo 400 ?
I do have a centered diff axle that I can use for this swap. So I am hopeful that somebody has tried this before. I just can't seem to find a length on the shaft coming out of the GM Turbo 400 into the QuadraTrac . If I had more than 30 days before I have to move I would just start pulling parts and trying it, but I need to get my CJ safe enough to drive before 30 days..
I hope I didn't confuse anyone. If I did just laugh at the fact that I am there with you..
Also I have been looking for another axle to just swap in but I am just not finding one in my area
Thank you for any input
