The amber is suppose to help in fog.
So mounting them under your bumper to keep them as low as possible would be the correct spot.
IMHO you should wire them up with disconnects so they can be removed for off-road. so you don't snap them off.
Man those look like some old school factory type lights... My buddy had some factory lights that were bolted on the top of the frame rails and i did the same as the holes were the correct size
