Hi gang, I've been searching for a set of 2nd hand aluminum slots 15x7 5.5 bolt pattern. This isn't for 'Black Betty', but 'Easy Bake' my '81 Ford van. As it happens these two rigs seem to share sizes and bolt patterns. I've been looking at EBay and Craigslist ads for the past week but so far, no luck. I remember these being very common in the '70's and '80's here in Oregon but they all seem to have vanished. Any ideas of resources?

Thanks and a lift of the lynch lid.

Gus, as you probably know the Portland Swap Meet is coming up April 4-6.I wasn't sure if you where shopping for new or used.Might find either if you have a couple days.

Good luck on your hunt, mike:)

Thanks certafiable, I saw those too I think the seller thinks they're made of gold.

mstar, working 7 days a week like I do I miss event news like this, thanks so much! I'm hoping to get it together with a friend and boogie on up there. Is it at the expo?

If you look at past sales, they are just going for like $100 a piece a when you can find them. Took me years to find a good set for my wife's 5 and I paid probably on average 80 a wheel... shipping is usually 30 bucks a wheel, give or take... things are just getting out of hand price wise these days.

$400 including shipping was the best I could get for a used set. But boy do they bring smiles to everyone.

I had to clean mine as well... a lot of cleaning and polishing to make them pop... couple hours on each one... but the wife liked her new sneakers...

Those are some crazy prices! I paid $50 for the full set in the pic below just as you see them. I bought them on ebay! The guy had horrible feedback so no one bid high on the rims. It was a no reserve auction so I took a chance with my $50. I didn't trust the guy to ship them so I drove to him. I was very clear to him what my plans were and we didn't have any misunderstandings. :D

Just about a year and a half ago I owned 16 of the sausage slot rims, sold them in sets of 4 for $AMC 150 -$200. This past July I saw a set of 4 for $200. The hard ones to find are the D slot rims, they were offered on the Ren2 and intermediate Renegades.

There is no need to pay such high prices for those rims, their out there for less just have to be patient.

I have a set of 16.5's on my old ford and don't think I'll be able to by tires for them perty soon, had the truck for 25 years and don't want change it.

I also have 16.5 on my truck and it would really suck to have to buy 6 new wheels if I can't find tires for it. I would think there are so many campers and trucks running around with them they won't stop making them anytime soon I hope.

I was at the Moultrie Swap meet in Moutltrie Ga two years ago and bought a set with very good mud tires already mounted for $300. I needed new tires on my 92 F150 and bought them for it. I just liked the look and didn't know they were so sought after...

I see them around every once in awhile. I'll keep you in mind next set I see. They definately arent as plentiful as they used to be.

If you look closer at the rims in the link you will see the slots are set back into the rim a bit further and the inner machined ridge is thicker then the original CJ sausage slot rims in my pic above. Slight differences but different.

American racer manufactured the 15x7 CJ slots. Some of the rims in the link appear to be Appliance brand slots, but that would be a guess without closer look. Some other makes of 5 slot = Ansen, Fenton, US Indy to name a few.

Correct... those aren't originals... you have to make sure you get the correct ones if you want all originals as they were 15x7 and there were a ton of other manufacturers that made close ones to the originals that were in 8 and 10 inch sizes.
