I have read tons of threads that say how much better they are vs. the carter. The carter is on my Jeep now and I am not a fan. I found a 2100 on CL for 25 bucks, which will need to be rebuilt. Is there anything that I want to look for specifically? I want an electric choke and venturi size of 1.08, but there seems to be a lot of 2100 models. Ford Car Carburetors I want to save some money on this, but I don't want to get something that won't work well. I thought about running a rochester 2 jet that I could get for nothing, but everyone seems to really like the 2100. Here is the carb in question. Autolite 2100 2v Ford 289 Carb I did speak to him and it is 1.08.

Hard to say from the pic, can he email you pics of all four sides the bottom and top. It does have the electric choke, if it doesn't work, your electric choke from your carter will work in the 2100.

Well here it is:

Looks a little rough. I am hoping a rebuild takes care of that.

Do I need it? Maybe I will just send it to where that guy in the thread sent his for a rebuild. What's that thing for? I don't have any emissions stuff on my AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l . My EGR, and all that stuff, is all gone.

You want the PCV, Positive Crankcase Ventilation. It keeps your engine cleaner, inside anyway.

That is an early 2100. You can tell by the flat bowl cover, angular air horn, and the shape of the base. If the tag is correct, it's from a '68 Mustang.

yes it's a 68. I was told the C8 denotes that. c=70's and 8=8
I have tore apart a bunch of them when I running my falcon.
It probaly was like mine and had a spacer between it and the intake that the pcv plugged into. I converted a 76 f100 with the double tube to 60's since tube with vented filler cap. look for one for any 60's or 70's two barrel. Ford used that same carb on: 289, 302, 351w, 351c, 351m, and 400 and probally on 390's and 360's. Trucks, cars and vans
