What are you guys seeing/paying to have your seats refinished? I tried searching but didn't come up with much.

There is the beautiful kit on ebay, but it's out of my current price range.

I had a local shop quote me at $AMC 150 to repair just the bottom on mine as that's the worst part. My driver's seat frame was tweaked and leaning when I bought the Jeep, and I just got a solid used original that I stripped down to recover.

I see you can also buy just the bottom cushion cover on ebay to the tune of $275ish.

My Jeep is as close to original as you'll find minus the interior, which has Laredo seats...but they sure are beautiful seats. Torn (no pun intended) on what to do.

I have an upholstery shop here in Pioneer CA (No. CA east of Sac) and typically charge around $400 for a set of bucket seats. That may not include extensive foam work.
Here's the ones I just did for my Willys.

Your user name makes sense :)

Thanks for the reply. I might give the local shop a try. If for whatever reason I'm not in love with it, I will just save up and buy the "nos style repros" George's does on ebay.

Those seats look nice & comfortable!

Stich, I missed that you were so close. We might need to talk about a few pieces for my 6 as some parts are hard to find for it. I need a couple things. One is a piece to keep the pooch out of the front seats, like a web curtain. And we need some carpet kit help, and a bed for the back, again for the pooch. I would rather give my money to a fellow Jeeper here on the boards.

I will PM and see if we can connect.

Sorry for the thread hijack!

The quality of the kit on ebay is supposed to be very good. They are expensive, but compared to finding a mint Laredo seat, they aren't too bad.

If you really want Laredo seats, but the kit and do it right the first time.

First thing I learned about Jeeps is if you think "well, I'll spend XX now and then later I'll get what I really want that costs XXX"......well, your're better off saving a little longer and buying what you really want the first time.

For example, you pay $400 to get your seats recovered now, then you spent $1K in a few years to get them like you want them. You're out $1400, and you get nothing back from that initial $400, AND you go several years with someone that is better than it WAS, but still isn't what you want.

Had a buddy go through this with his Levi (Edition) 's interior. The fabric was available, but $$$, but original seats were the only thing he was gonna be happy with, so he bit the bullet and did it right the first time.

Had my wifes 65 chevy truck bench seat redone. $350, it was worth every penny!

I just had both of my front seats upholstered. Paid $500 for the set! He made a perfect match of the originals!

Ok, have heard about the repro seats on ebay by george? but have had no luck finding them, can anyone direct me to the right place? I have been looking for the hard to find black Laredo seats or even any high back originals to recover and what has been found has been just rotted out high priced junk. Thanks
