Since a couple of days ago my voltmeter shows 12v even with ignition off, no key.
The turn signal works also (which i think it shouldn't) without key.

Does anyone have an idea what's going on in there?

I think it could be a defective ignition switch which keeps the ignition always on or something backfeeding into the 12V-ignition wire...

I had bad ground with other gauges, could this be a possible reason?

Any ideas?

If you think the ignition is feeding through to the whole system, then check it at the ignition module inside the engine compartment.

I'm leaning towards a few of your things are wired a little "funny"...

Turn signals shouldn't work without key on, but flashers should.

When you say "Since a couple of days ago my voltmeter shows 12v even with ignition off, no key." what exactly do you mean? You are checking and getting voltage with a voltmeter from where with the key off? Or your "volt guage" is reading something even with key off?

If it is the gauge, it's most likely a short or miss wire...

Check with external volt meter in engine compartment to see if it's actually supplying voltage to the ignition system, (though I'm pretty sure you would know if it was... when running, you'd turn key off and it would stay running...)

I would start checking at the ignition switch.. sounds like the accessory side may be bleeding power still.

have you made any wiring changes lately?
if switched 12 volts is shorted to non-switched it would cause this. (switched 12 volts is voltage that should be on only when the key is on)
If there were no changes it would be the ignition switch. To verify the key switch you could unplug it but it's hard to get to.

Finally was a loose connector from the PO around the fuse box. Strange wiring. Turn indic. and hazard work now with ignition on. Voltmeter works. Only thing is that the hazard also needs the ignition.

Read about the "override switch" which overrides the turn indicator hot on ignition wire when the hazard switch is pressed.

Where should i search for it. Seems the PO kind of "simplified" things...
