I just bought a 1973 CJ5 and it has a 4 inch lift from skyjack thats really old and worn out it looks like. but also the jeep itself looks side ways like leaning one way. but when we jack up it becomes correct. we have taken the front suspension off and, the two leaf springs are completely different looking, not to mention like the bushings are worn out, bolts are rubbed down, etc. what i want to know if it would help if i bought new lift kit. or what im afraid of if its actually the frame and if there is anything i can do. Please help this is my first job on working on a jeep, and i love it.

OK

first, can I ask you to fill out the profile fields with the drive train info
we like this filled out so if you ask questions we know where to start
even though this is not one of them times

so to your question

you lift is shot, go out and get a new one, If you want the 4 inch go for it
most guys here are running between 2,5 and 4 so there is a lot of experience with your lift.
Once you get the lift in do each corner at a time, when you do each corner I like to put fresh shackles on and inspect the frame in those areas for cracks
make sure you get new shocks with your lift.
now your jeep should look level, we now have the ability to check to see if the frame is level also.
oh, pics, we love pics
