trying to figure out why my bell crank keeps falling out when I back up. I have installed a new bell crank with bushings and retainers new motor and Transmission mounts it seems like the bellcrank is too short any one had this problem?
 
That is an interesting one, but I suppose you could have the pivots located in the wrong position. I am sure that it is falling out due to the engine torquing over as you let the clutch out. Possibilitys would be that the engine is located too far to one side or the body is offset too far to the other. I do know that the bellcrank must be perpendicular to the frame. So somehow an adjustment must be made since you have new engine mounts and bellcrank bushings. By any chance is there a body lift installed? I would first suggest that try to find any error of the bellcrank pivots location. The spacing between the pivot mounting bolts that I have on my '86 is 12" across and have had no problems like that.

When engine mounts go bad the engine tends to sag to the rear. This also will make the valve cover get pretty close to the firewall and the bellcrank to be pushed back on the bellhousing side to the rear. I have seen this break a pivot ball off and knock the bell crank out. Worn bellcrank bushings can also cause the bellcrank to come loose. I once made those bushings from the covers of Coleman propane cans to fix a broke CJ on the Rubicon Trail. Anyway what I am trying to say is if the motor mounts are replaced without moving the engine back to its original position the bellcrank can remain in an offset position and still cause problems. To repeat what I have already said, the bellcrank axis must be perpendicular with the frame.
