I got a good deal on a pair of Bestop seats, but they won't tilt. I think the tilting mech is rusted and one of the knobs is missing. Anybody ever take one apart? I just want to know if I'm going to be able to put them back together or will I end up with two unusable seats. Right now they're usable, just not adjustable. Thanks!

I would try the pb blaster and see if you can free up the mechanism before taking them apart. The take the pass side apart first this way if it doesnt go back together you atleast have the drivers side still working.

is it really that important to you??

A seat that smells like PBBlaster?

Thanks, Jimbo. I'll apply liberally and let it soak for a while before attempting to take it apart.

IO - I don't particularly like the stone cold chillin' Detroit lean that the driver's seat is currently positioned in. I would prefer to be able to tilt it forward a little bit so I don't feel like I'm in the driver's hole of an M1 Abrams.

If I can't get them to move, I'll see if I can switch the brackets and put the "leaner" on the passenger side.

Oh yeah...I thought PB Blaster was the natural smell of a CJ.:D

my bad, I thought they were upright. laid back would be a problem to me too.
