1986 CJ7 original 258 I6. 4" w/ spring overs, 35" swampers, welded rear, detroit locker front, cut-out fenders....
this is probly a very easy fix, but i just bought my first cj (always had gm trucks) the blinkers did not work when i bought it because of a broken switch. i replaced the switch and now both left blinkers flash very fast, as if a bulb was out, the right side only the rear light blinks very slowly, both front bulbs are brand new, 4-ways work, and all fuses are good.. any ideas? thanks

elwood I am with you on that but your link pulls up an error

That's weird, I wonder why? Anyways, you can just go to the NAPA online site and select a 1986 Jeep CJ7 and search for the keyword "flasher". That'll bring up a whole page of options for replacement flashers.

Sounds to me like a wiring or grounding issue at the right front turn signal. Check it with a test light and a known-good ground. If you don't get flash there with the test light, trace back to the wiring harness where it passes the horn on the right side and probe it there. If you still don't get it, trace it inside, to the turn signal switch.

Me too. You can unscrew the two screws and clean up the housing with a wire brush. A lot of times water gets behind and in there and rust develops. When you put the covers back on note that on one side there is a small notch. That points to the bottom so water can drain out.

Where do they sell that?
At Mary Kay?

Be careful you don’t get any of that Chinese blinker fluid, stick with the domestic stuff if you can find it.

NO!! They sell it at Walmart! Hello??!! ;)

That Chinese stuff screwed my blinkers up bad last year. I had just changed the fluid, put in a new filter and everything. It wasnt even 2 days later when I noticed that something wasnt right. Dammit if I didnt have to drain and change again. I guess I am lucky that I didnt have to replace the entire blinker system. That would have been costly ;)
