Hello,

I ordered a new body mount kit from Morris, but it does not come with the center front mount. Mine was toast and I have one mashed grommet with a rusted sleeve.

Does anyone have a creative solution? I am guessing I am not the first one with this issue.

Also. Just for my sanity, why do the new body mount kits require cutting of the tubes? Are they using the same kit for multiple applications??

Chris

I'm doing body mounts right now and you are right the kits don't come with the front mount. Hey a word to the body mount kit makers, "Listen dummy, the front end IS part of the body and we need a mount for that too!" Mine doesn't require or didn't have the sleeve from the factory. It seems cheap of them not having the tube cut. Buddy I feel your pain.

Mine is odd, the stock front mount is too high, a 1" body lift is too high for me to consider. So, with the blessing of my Jeep guru I'm stacking my new kit on top of the old, not really so old, pucks. Now, when hard core jeepers get together I can brag on having a 1/2" lift. :) I'm sure they will think I'm one of the stupidest jackasses they have ever seen.

:)Energy Suspension makes various kits and high energy Polyurethane Pucks that fit a variety of things..........go on Ebay or on there web site.......I was able to use there kit 2.4101G for body mounts and the extra ones to make a front mount.........in my case it was a little higher than need be, I just chucked it up in the lathe and parted off a 1/4" and was good to go!

:D:D:D:D

With my 1/2" lift I'm expecting to trim one down to fit. If I'd done that without the lift the grill would have been sitting on the frame.

My 1" body lift came with one large donut so I installed that under the grill. all the rest of the spacers looked the same.

The front ones will be included very soon with the rubber mount kits.

A member on here and/or Jeepforum had sourced some of the parts and made the washers, and submitted a set to the manufacturer, and they will soon be included.

As silly as it sounds, I think the reason they never were included is if you went to a Chrysler dealership, and asked them to print out the page with the body mount hardware, they don't show the grille one. That is in the cooling section, so when the kits were made way back when, they were never included.

You should be able to order the grille mount under part numbers but I'd expect a kit to come out soon, and maybe a master kit with all together.

Great info,

I have the washer and retainer, I will hunt for the rubber.

CJ - And why is that? Both the rubber and the poly seem to flex about the same amount. Side by side squishing them, they both seem about the same. To late I've got poly pucks on there now and I'm not taking them off unless there is a darned good reason to do so.
