So i will take pictures tomorrow of my 84 body tub which is the main reason im posting this. The guy who previously owned it before the man i bought it from used it just for rock crawling, well it doesnt have the tabs to keep the Soft Top on it has nothing, do they make kits to put the tabs on?

Do you already have a top? If you buy a top kit, it should come with all the mounting hardware. If you already have a top, just contact the manufacturer for a replacement hardware kit.

If you are serious about getting a new top look into the Best Top. It does away with the snaps and uses a locking rail system and the material they use just seems to last longer.

I dont have a soft top but i do have all the old hard ware and my "glass" tub has snaps but the new one doesnt but ill have to look into Best Top because that sounds like it seals alot better then snaps placed 6 inches apart lol.

I just installed a Bestop supertop kit and ya it comes with everything you need and uses rails not snaps (except tailgate if equiped). Was pretty easy install if your windsheild angle is correct, mine took some slight enlarging of the holes in the windsheild brackets to get the windsheild to lay back enough to fit the top.

Both my CJs use snap on tops, Not a bad thing at all. Now when I bought my CJ6 it had no top and I ordered a Tiger top from Bestop and when it got here the snaps did not line up with any of the old snap holes. S I pulled out the welder and plugged all the holes, grinded and a little bondo and paint later I was redrilling and got a great fit. I know a lot of guys do not like snap tops because they are afraid of drilling in teh new snaps, but hey it makes you a lot more confident in your abilities when you are finished, and any mistakes are a quick fix.
