I am considering putting different brake lights on my 80 CJ5 Renegade . I was thinking about putting in recessed round semi tails but want to know for sure they're gonna look awesome or if there are any other ideas out there?

Any ideas or pictures and how you did it from anyone who swapped for something else would be greatly appreciated.

You will need to add back up lights too.

I have the round recess breaks lights but would like to see what folks have done for the backup lights. Photos anyone?

Good call, they might be a good idea, hehe.

I'm thinking one 50 watt Daylighter on the tire carrier.:D

I am thinking something like this but with smaller driving lights mounted a little further out towards the ends of the rear bumper as my tire actually touches it.

Kinda small Backups, but I like the classic look.

Besides who goes in reverse anyway. Plan ahead and pin it!

This looks a lot like a scout, doesn't it?

So how would you wire it if you wanted to have them automatically come on when the Jeep is put in reverse and you also wanted to be able to switch them on manually like mentioned above?

The factory circuit for the backup lights includes a switch on the Transmission . To add a switch for manual operation, just tap into downstream of the tranny switch with 12V.
